This house had a very plain frontyard with old, tired turf grass and a straight forward concrete walkway. The yard is small yet we created and installed nearly every one of our favorite landscape elements in it - berms, walls, flagstone paths, trees, shrubs, flowering perennials, and sculptural features. This llandscape makeover was designed to be a 'gardener's paradise'. One of the most important features of this job was changing the straight path to a semi-circle with two access points at the sidewalk. This creates an interesting choice when leaving or entering the house, "...do I take the left or right path?". It takes one on a mini-tour of the garden without sacrificing efficiency. Especially when coming home from work, this is the beginning of the decompression process offering a more gentle transition from public to private space.
